10 points a ball, 100 for the rack.

How to Play

Controls

  • Aim — drag anywhere on the cloth, or use ◀ ▶ for fine adjustment.
  • Shoot — drag back from the cue ball and release, or set the power bar and press SHOOT.
  • Spin — drag the dot on the spin ball. Top for follow, bottom for screw back.
  • Keyboard — ← → aim (Shift for fine), ↑ ↓ power, Space to shoot.

Eight-ball

  • The table is open after the break. The first ball you pot legally claims solids (1–7) or stripes (9–15) for you.
  • Keep shooting while you keep potting your own group.
  • Potting the last of your seven does not end your visit. You stay at the table, call a pocket for the black — tap the pocket you are going for — and play on.
  • The black is one attempt. A spare shot never carries onto it.
  • Put the 8 in the pocket you called and the rack is yours.
  • The rack is only lost on the black going down when it should not — potted early, potted in a pocket you did not call, or potted on a shot you fouled. Everything else while you are on the black — missing it, a scratch, taking one of your opponent's — is an ordinary foul: two shots to them, and the game plays on.

Fouls & two shots

  • A foul hands your opponent two shots — two visits at the table, so they can miss once and still play on. Potting keeps the spare shot in hand. This does not apply once a player is on the black.
  • It is a foul to: pot the cue ball, strike the other group first, strike the 8 first when you are not on it, hit nothing at all, fail to send any ball to a cushion when nothing is potted, or pot one of your opponent's balls.
  • The cue ball is played from where it lies — except after potting the cue ball, when it comes back in hand behind the head line.

Points

  • Every ball of your own group is worth 10. Winning the rack is worth 100.
